Project Work and Exam • Objective • Use methods and techniques introduced during lectures/exercises to make “discoveries” about a selected gene • Work on gene of own choice or choose from list of suggested genes • Prepare results as • Powerpoint presentation (ca. 6-10 slides) • Poster (A0 or 6-10 slides) • Written 2 page summary of project

Project Work and Exam • Poster content • Title, names of group members and affiliations (e.g. DTU) • Description of selected methods (strengths and weaknesses), results on chosen gene, suggestions for getting more information on chosen gene • Starting points • Pretend that you are given the assignment: “Find out what you can about this gene and describe ways in which we can design experiments on this gene”

Project Poster Upload • Name your poster presentation “Group-X.ppt” and upload before Thursday, June 21, 2 pm • Upload here: • https://www.cbs.dtu.dk/PM/admin/Courses_Conf_Wshops_Talks/00588_27616uploadsec/user: 27616; pw: cbs27616 • Select "Files" at top, select "file to upload" and select file on own computer • Or email to: carsten@cbs.dtu.dk

Project Work and Exam • “Buddy-group” questions • Each group will be assigned a “buddy-group” and has to come up with onerelevant question for that group during the exam/presentation • Students can discuss with their “buddy-group” during the poster party • Formulating this question is part of the course requirements

  6. Project Work and Exam • Exam in class • Takes place on last day (Friday 22/6) • Students will present powerpoint presentations in classroom (with censor present) • Censor and “buddy-group” will ask a few questions

  7. Summary Course Requirements • Make project poster in group • Hang up poster for poster party • Hand in 2-3 page written summary (e-mail to carsten@cbs.dtu.dkbefore Thursday 21/6 at 2 pm • Prepare 1 question for buddy-group • Present project orally as a group at exam (~15-20 min.)
