05/03/2013 MRR at disdrometer cluster site located 47 km from NPOL(0020-0130 UTC): Mixed phase event, Z and Velocity Per Patrick Gatlin: The MRR located about 47 km SE of the NPOL radar captured lowering and raising of the melting layer. Shown are time-height series of reflectivity (left) and Doppler velocity (right) between 00:20-01:30 UTC on 3 May, 2013. The melting layer intersected the surface twice in this image. Also, an increase in fall speed around the fringes of the reflectivity enhancements is evident. The 2DVD at that location indicated a rather variable DSD at the ground during these melting layer undulations.
IFIS Daily accumulated rainfall with flood sensors (4 sites indicated at flood stage).
