Objectives • To promote a successful learning environment. • To develop higher level critical thinking skills. • To motivate and challenge all students. • To incorporate Classroom Learning Systems (CLS). • To formulate cooperative leaning strategies. • To offer a medley of teaching styles to accommodate every type of learner.
Essential Learnings • The nature of science • Weather • The formation and properties of rocks and minerals • The Earth as a system • The ocean’s environment • Astronomy
Required Materials • Textbook-please cover and keep at home. • The following materials are required in the classroom on a daily basis: • Blue 3 prong folder with pockets. • Color Pencils • 1 dry erase marker • writing materials and paper (pencil only) • Composition book • planner There is a $10.00 lab donation for this class. Please have this paid by the first week of school.
General Information • Homework is assigned each time the class meets and must be complete to get credit and must be signed. • Test and quizzes will be given at regular intervals and announced in advanced. • Folders are expected to be up to date at all times. • The class web page is under construction and can be accessed at : http://it.pinellas.k12.fl.us/Teachers6/sleej/home.html
