  1. Melvil Dewey Melvil Dewey was born December 10, 1851.

  2. Melvil Dewey • He lived in upper town New York and had a junky house because he was poor.

  3. Dewey Decimal Classification • When he was 21 he invented the Dewey Decimal Classification System. He was awarded the Father of Modern Librarianship.

  4. Melvil Dewey • He was happily married with Annie Dewey. They created the lake placid club in the Adirondack Mountains.

  5. The death of Melvil Dewey • After a stroke Melvil soon died. He died on December 26, 1931.
