  2. Every Person Belongs To God • Made in His image (Gen 1:26-28). • We have dominion over His works (cf. Psa 8). • To us, Jesus Christ revealed God (Matt 11:27; John 1:18; 14:9; Col 1:15; Heb 1:1-3). • To us, the Holy Spirit revealed God’s will (John 14:25-26; 15:26-27; 16:13; 1 Cor 2:10-13).

  3. What is God’s purpose for us? • Not to fulfill His need (Acts 17:24-25). • Seek Him (Acts 17:26-27; Heb 11:6; Ro 10:17). • Glorify & thank Him (Rom 1:21-22). • Return His love (1 John 4:7-10; Mt 22:36-40). • Keep His commandments (1 John 2:3-5).

  4. Our nature serves God’s purpose • God created man to be a self-conscious, self-controlling being (Gen 1:26). • God’s sovereignty will be vindicated on the Judgment Day (2 Cor 5:10).

  5. Our nature serves God’s purpose • How do we know that man has the power to choose his destiny? • God has the power of choice (Exo 32:7-14) & we’re made in His image. • God shows no partiality (Deut 10:17; Ezek 18:19-24; Acts 10:34-35; Rom 2:11; Eph 6:9).

  6. Our nature serves God’s purpose • What does God want us to do with our free-will? • “…do all to the glory of God” “…in the name (authority) of Christ” (1 Cor 10:31; cf. Col 3:17). • “…deny self, take up cross & follow” (Matt 16:24). • Devote your free-will to His service & purpose.

Forgiveness of Sin: Salvation! • Faith in Jesus Christ through the Gospel John 8:24; 20:30-31; Rom 1:16; 10:9-10; Mark 16:16; Heb 11:6 • Repent or turn from sins Luke 24:46-47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30-31 • Confess faith in Christ Matt 10:32-33; Acts 8:36-38; Rom 10:9-10 • Be baptized (immersed) in water Matt 28:19; Mk 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-4; 1 Pet 3:21 • Live in obedient faith Heb 5:8-9; 1 Peter 1:14; Rev 2:10
