Below-listed are the simple steps for individuals to follow to get the updated PAN Card: Step 1: Applicants can simply download the PAN Card Correction Form from the official website of Alankit or can obtain it from the Alankit office. Note: Applicants who are citizens of India and Indian companies within India should select the Form 49A where applicants residing living abroad, and overseas passport holders should select Form 49AA. Step 2: After choosing the applicable form,individuals should proceed to fill in the appropriate information following the instructions given on the form. Individuals must avoid any unwanted detail and use of overwriting to prevent any delay in the process. Step 3: Applicants need to attach the supporting documents along with the PAN Card Correction Form for the authenticity of the information. The supporting documents for verification include a valid proof of identity (Aadhaar Card /Voter ID Card issued by the government) and proof of address (Driving Licence/ Domicile Certificate).
Step 4: To proceed further, applicants need to submit their forms and relevant documents to the Alankit office. To avail the service, there is a processing fee ranging from INR 107 to INR 120 to be paid by the applicants who are Indian citizens whereas INR 1,040 for the ones residing abroad. The Alankit executives will send the applications to the PAN department. Post submission of PAN Card correction form, an acknowledgment number is sent to the applicants and the status can be tracked with the help of the 15-digit acknowledgment number. It takes 15-20 business days for an updated PAN Card to be dispatched to the applicants.
