What is a read-a-thon? • A read-a-thon is a fundraiser where you get to do 2 great things: read AND raise money for our school! • School, home, and personal goals will be set. • Paperwork will go home on Monday!
Kindergarten Goals • H=10 minutes • S=10 minutes • Per student: 280 minutes for the whole read-a-thon TOTAL: 23,800 (85)
1st Grade Goals • H=10 minutes • S=15 minutes • Per student: 340 minutes for the whole read-a-thon Total: 29,580 (87)
2nd Grade Goals • H=10 minutes • S=30 minutes • Per student: 520 minutesfor the whole read-a-thon TOTAL: 47,320 (91)
3rd Grade Goals • H=20 minutes • S=20 minutes • Per student: 560 minutes for the whole read-a-thon TOTAL: 54,320 (97)

How do I participate? • READ!! • Attend planned events & check-in • Collect Pledges using the pledge form • Track reading minutes on calendars
Barnes & Noble Night • 6:00-8:00 PM-make sure to check-in • A night to see OLE staff members, listen to guest readers, play Think Fun Games & enter a drawing to win one, as well as purchase books and/or dinner. • Vote for your favorite bookmark!
Books and a Band Come for dinner, snacking, dancing, bookmark creating, & a bonus checkout from the media center!
Other Events • Chipotle • Oct. 8 from 4-7PM Penn Lake Library Oct. 10 from 5:30-7:30
Participation Prizes • All participants will receive some prizes for free stuff from our community sponsors.
Nook HD!! 1 Nook per grade level will be awarded to the lucky reader, event attendee, & pledge collector • Ways to win… • For every $25 pledge = 1 vote • For every event attended that YOU checked in at = 1 vote or more! • For the most minutes read = 5 votes
School Fun for Everyone! • We will have guest readers come read to us from the community, such as school board members, the mayor, and • And other surprises throughout our read-a-thon, including a special treat next Friday!
