What Is A Works Cited Page? • An alphabetical list of the works you have made a reference to. • Used when citing sources in MLA ( Modern Language Association) Style.
How To Create A Works Cited Page • Put the author’s last name first, a comma, then the first name Ex.: Jones, Mary. • Punctuation and a space follow each piece of the citation. • List the entries in alphabetical order and DO NOT number. • Citations start at the left margin then each line after is indented one-half inch
Books with one author: Last name, First name. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Ex. Henley, Patricia. The Hummingbird House. Denver: MacMurray, 1999. Books with no author: List and alphabetize by the title of the book. Ex. Encyclopedia of Indiana. New York: Somerset, 1993. Book with more than one author: First author’s name is written last name first; all others are written first name, last name. Title of Book. Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication Ex. Gillespie, Paula and Neal Learner. The Allyn and Bacon Guide to Peer Tutoring. Boston: Allyn 2000. Works Cited Page: Books
