AcademicStandards • Each individual sport holds academic support to ensure that ample time is devoted to studies while allowing student athletes the opportunity to seek extra help from teachers. (Mandatory three times a week) • New policy coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • Eligibilty/Clearing House/College Ready/SAT
Team Travel • You must travel to and from any competition on the bus • If you plan on picking up your student athlete a note to the athletic director is required 24 hours in advance • We are liable
Drug/Alcohol Policies • The NLHS Athletic Department adheres to the CIAC and New London Board of Education Policy JFCH/JFCI Students Alcohol/Drug Abuse. This policy deals with the line of responsibility, procedures in dealing with a specific instance of drug abuse, and confidently of information. This includes performance enhancing drugs such as steroids, human growth hormones and its derivatives and amphetamines.
Facilities/Practices/Late Bus • New London High school late bus is at 5:15. Students need to bring all their stuff with them after school. • Some practices may, due to facility restraints, go past this time. • 7 Varsity teams sharing space in one building.
Attendance Policy • You must be in school the day of the competition in order to compete (at least 4 hours) • If you are out of school on Friday you cannot compete that day or over the weekend (that includes practice) • If you receive ADP or outside suspension you are not allowed to return until you have been back to school for a complete day
Safety • Safety of our student athletes will always be the utmost priority in our athletic program.
Uniforms • Team by Team basis • Uniform Cycle • Return of uniforms at the end of season is mandatory. • To participate in another sport • Receive varsity letter • Graduation
