  2. Step 1 - Find a video • Today you’re going to practice searching and downloading video • First - open • YouTube(http://youtube.com) OR • TeacherTube(http://teachertube.com) OR • YouTube Edu (http://www.youtube.com/edu)

  3. Step 2 - Find a Video • Second - browse for a video you like or think you could use • hint - remember to try using the “Channels” option in YouTube • optional - create an account in either site to begin collecting your favorites

  4. Step 3 - Download • Third - download, or ‘rip’, the video to your computer • for Mac users - click here • for PC users - click here

Mac upload directions - TubeTV • click on this link to go to the TubeTV site • (http://www.chimoosoft.com/products/tubetv/) • once there, click on to download the free application • open the TubeTV application on your hard drive • with your browser open to the video you want to download, click the hand icon in the top right hand corner to grab the URL • if you already have TubeTV open, click “File” in the toolbar and choose “Download from Firefox”

  6. TubeTV directions continued • this dialogue box will open to let you know the progress of the download • once the download is complete, you can find the video in iTunes under Movies • now you can insert the video into Keynote, PowerPoint, blogs, wikis or Blackboard

  7. Advanced - embed HTML • this isn’t difficult to do but not everyone will want to try it so it’s completely optional • if you have a blog, wiki, website, Moodle or other web-based site, you can easily upload the HTML from any video directly to the site • when you find a video you want to use, copy the HTML code • paste this code into the appropriate place on your site • this will look different on every site but if you look in the Help menu, you’ll find it • now the video will play from your site, without having to stream

  9. PC directions - continued • Step 2 - Copy and paste the URL link from the YouTube video you chose

  10. PC Directions - continued • Step 3 - browse to choose where you’d like the video to be downloaded to (i.e., a file, your desktop) • You can change the name as well

  14.
