  1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

  2. Media technologies have helped me massively in all the areas of building my final product. Without these I could not do the research, planning, designing and evaluation to the best quality. Using different media technologies gave me the creative element to do what I wished and helped me present what I wanted to present exactly.

  3. All aspects of Google helped me throughout the whole of the making of my music video. Google images especially helped me because I was able to search for anything I needed or wanted for my media product. All the photographs on my blog were from Google images (apart from the photos I took personally). I used Google images the most when I was researching for my ancillary tasks. I was able to find examples of digipaks and magazine adverts.

  4. YouTube helped me massively in the research stages of making my music video. With YouTube being the largest online video streaming service, I was able to search for any music video I wanted and watch it all for free. For my first part of this project I used YouTube constantly and it helped me decide exactly what I wanted to do as my final product.

  5. Edublogs was the blogging website that all of our class used to present and show our work in an online method. We would sue edublogs as evidence of our research, planning, making, editing and evaluating stages. I really like showing my work online because I can be creative in how I finally present my work in terms of video format, picture format, podcast format and writing format.

  6. I mainly used Photoshop when creating my ancillary tasks. For example, when editing my photos, I used the features on this program to change the photograph into black and white, enhancing brightness and contrast. I also used Photoshop to create the basic skeleton of my digipak and magazine advert.

  7. iMovie was the software that we used in the editing process of the production of my music video. I really liked using iMovie because (although I did not know how to use the new version) I was able to teach myself new techniques and effects that I could use within my music video, such as ‘split screen’ and ‘picture in picture’. I also used iMovie in the evaluation stages (question 1).

  8. Social networking sites were used in my project to receive feedback from my peers. I posted the link of my blog in my ‘status’ or my ‘tweet’ in the hope that I would receive feedback. I generally received the feedback via private message from my friends which I was very appreciative for. I like using Facebook and Twitter to show my work on because all my friends can see my work and look how I am doing.

  9. Equipment The equipment we used was essential in the production of our music video. Here is a list of what we used: • Handy-cam – The handy-cam was used to record our footage on. • Tripod – We used the tripod when filming our music video to ensure that all the shots were steady. Although sometimes when we wanted a tracking shot, we hand held the camera. • Lighting – We did not use any tungsten lighting, we relied on natural lighting. We were lucking that our location was a light building. Before filming we made sure that the lighting was good enough to rely on. • Speakers – We used speakers to play our music loudly so that ‘Elle’ could sing along with the music when recording.
