Napster Review • Napster is a one-year trial of a legal online music service for students at Cornell. • During the course of the pilot, the Student Assembly (SA) will determine if a long-term legal online music service is desirable and select a vendor. • Napster provides music to students with network access in three delivery methods: streaming, tethered download, and purchase.
Project Accomplishments • Rapid deployment - From signature to sign-on was < 80 days • National and local exposure for Cornell noting unique partnership with students • Enhanced dialogue among the CCDs & net-admins (Oliver Habicht and Mitch Collinsworth) • Employed the practice of project management in a cross-divisional project • Introduced staff specialization • Mark Lundergan: Product Specialist • Beth Lyons: Communication Strategist
