Welcome Parents and Students to the 2008-2009 School Year! I am very excited about the opportunity to serve as your Parent Liaison. I am here to bridge the gap between maintaining a strong relationship with home, school and community.
Mission Statement To encourage parents and caregivers to take a more proactive and hands on approach in their child’s academic achievement. Through active volunteerism, becoming knowledgeable about school rules & regulations, learning how to interpret data as it relates to their child; every child will achieve success in school.
Goals and Objectives • Help parents understand what is expected of students. • Assist parents to become better teachers • Encourage parents to continue a learning environment at home.
Goals and Objectives continued… • Encourage parents to volunteer for student-centered activities. • Motivate parents to join and become active members of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) • Build partnerships with organizations for growth and development of our students’ social and academic enrichment. • Establish effective communication through newsletters, phone calls and e-mails.
Conduct Parent Workshops Help maintain an effective line of communication Provide resource information to address parental concerns Serve on the School Management Improvement Team Meet with parents to discuss school policies and procedures Form partnerships with local business and community organizations. Collaborate with the PTSA The Role of the Parent Liaison
