The ProAccess objective improve accessibility of educational content for visually impairedpeople disseminate the bestpractices and guidelines stemming from theresults of two previous EU funded projects: ORMEE andEUAIN increase thepossibility for visually impaired people involved in any educational process to accesscourse material on a timely basis, especially asdigital files, that can easily be used with PC
Why this meeting today • illustration of the main points in thePro Access valorisation report on the results of Ormee and Euain in reference to the specific applications in the educational environment; • the discussion and collaboration among the various stakeholders in order to decide best indications to create accessible content in the respect of demands of the visually impaired users and of the rights of the content producers. a common agreement on possible solutions

ORMEE purpose • analysis of the implementation of the EU Copyright Directive in all the European countries • adoption of the DMR to protect the rights of the contents producers • estimation of the best available applications in the environment eLearning, the best technologies and the legal actual services for eLearning objects
ORMEE results DRM • set of licenses among all the actors (authors, content providers, aggregators, suppliers, distributors, end users) involved in the value chain of creating, distributing and accessing to educational content • technical protection measures • solutions to regulate the access to copyrighted content possible solutions to the protection of the copyright and its exceptions Pro Access collaboration among the various stakeholders
EUAIN results: • training materials with the objective to furnish the general knowledge to content producers and their suppliers for the creation of accessible educational contents • a tool named Demonstrator to verify if a document could be considered accessible or not • a list of all the accessible formats used during the AIP (Accessible Information Processing) and for each one: • characteristics • conversions processes to obtain accessible formats • standards assure an high-quality accessible information • guidelines for content producers
one EUAIN purpose: • to point out the different types of digital documents and to verify their accessibility for visually impaired people individualization of the accessible formats user’s needs
