  14. Note: • Jesus told them what all the Bible writers had prophesied about His life. Then they knew that He was the true Messiah. Likewise we should let the Bible explain its prophecies. As we study Revelation in light of what other Bible writers say on the same subject, the other texts become “Golden Keys” that unlock Revelation’s “mysteries”. Remember, our personal opinions about Bible prophecy do not count. In fact we are warned not to teach them.

  15. 7. Why Did Jesus Speak in Parables? • Luke 8:10: • “That seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand.”

  16. Note: • Jesus clothed Revelation in symbols so only those who are sincerely seeking spiritual truth and willing to be guided by the Holy Spirit can understand. Also, in Revelation God’s enemies are unmasked and His true people revealed. Because of this satan’s followers would have destroyed the Book if it had been written in literal language.

  17. 8. Can We Understand The Symbols of Bible Prophecy? • YES! • “BEAST”= Kingdom. • (Dan. 7:23) • “WATER” = Peoples,multitudes, nations and tongues. • (Rev. 17:15) • “DAY” = Year • (Eze. 4:6/Num 14:34) • (Genesis 29:26-28)

  18. Authority of Bible Prophecy • 9. How reliable is bible prophecy?2 Peter 1:19 • “We have a more sure word of prophecy.” • 10. Does God really warn against private interpretations?2 Peter 1:20 & Rev. 22:18,19 • (a) “No prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” • (b) We are not to add unto or take away from the words of this prophecy.

  19. 11. Why do some say Revelation can’t be understood? • Read: Isaiah 29:10 - 14: • Note: • Satan’s strategy is to claim Revelation cannot be understood because it is a sealed book or because we are not learned.

  20. 12. How Much of the Bible is Inspired? • 2 Tim. 3:16: • “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God (and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof , for correction, for instruction in righteousness …)”

  22. 13. What Can Happen if We Twist Scripture? • 2 Peter 3:16: • “As also in all his epistles … in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.”

  24. Note: • To clearly understand I must have spiritual insight which is given to those who love and serve God. Also, I must be willing to do God’s will as it becomes clear to me. To disobey God’s truth after it is revealed is dangerous.

What Promise is Given to Those Who Obey? • Rev. 3:10: • “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” • Rev. 22:14: • “Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

  26. Jesus loves everyone and wants to save everyone – no one is excluded – because He Loves All!

  27. Are you willing to obey as God reveals His truth? Holy Bible Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth”. John 17:17
