It is possible to provide pre-installed software such as - Microsoft Office - Window Box - Primary CD ROM titles. We strongly recommend that when sourcing software you ensure the application is Windows XP compatible and has a MSI file before purchasing the software. Does it need to be deployed centrally? Is there a Curriculum Choice Pack? Is it Windows XP Compatible? Is there an RM Package Blueprint? Yes No No No Creation of an MSI file can be a time consuming option so make sure you set some time aside to do this and that user understand you need notice to add new applications. RM Application Management Tools are provided to assist with the process or third party packaging tools can be purchased. Note: this is not an option for customers with an RM Managed Service Install application using 3rd Party MSI process as documented in Community Connect 3 Reference Manual Create own MSI Application Integration Service RM Application Wizard Third Party Packaging Tool eg WISE If there is: i) a requirement to create a large number of MSI files and/or, ii) a high turnover of applications in a secure network environment, then we recommend attendance of the Advanced Application Integration training course. This course has been specifically designed to increase knowledge levels and ensure that RM Application Management Products are used optimally. This service creates an MSI that is unique to each customer, this means that the price reflects the cost / investment made in creating each MSI. - Many of these tools are professional software development tools and so have commercial licence and support models - Non RM MSI packages receive category B support which may be time bound.
