Seven Abominations “These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19

  3. Proverbs 16:18; 29:23 (16:18), Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (29:23), A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.

  4. 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Hebrews 6:17-18 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, {18} that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

  7. John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, {20} idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, {21} envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."

  13. Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

  14. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. God desires us to give Him our hearts. Make sure you never allow your heart to become the devil’s garbage dump!

  16. Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"

  17. Seven Abominations A false witness who speaks lies • Perjury (Lying under oath, or when invoking the name of God) • All lying an abomination, but this a step above!

  18. Seven Abominations One who sows discord among brethren • Psalm 133:1 • Ephesians 4:3 • Discord comes from error preached, unkind words, unbridled tongues, etc.

  19. Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

  20. Ephesians 4:3 "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, {2} with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, {3} endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We must work for, not against peace and unity!

  21. Seven Abominations Conclusion And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. (Romans 6:13)
