  3. College Divisions • Each level of college has separate initial academic requirements • NCAA uses a sliding scale based on Core GPA and ACT/SAT Scores • ACT/SAT sub-scores can be used from separate tests • NCAA – www.eligibilitycenter.org • NAIA – www.playmynaia.org

Graduation Requirements • ACE Graduation Requirements • 23 total units required • 4 units English • 3 units Math (between 9th & 12th grades) • 3 units Science (1 Biology, 1 Physical, 1 Other) • 3.5 units Social Studies (OK, World, US, American) • 2 units of Foreign Language or • 2 units of Computer Technology • 1 additional unit of above mentioned categories • 1 unit of Fine Arts • Personal Financial Literacy • Electives to meet 23 total units • Standard Graduation Requirements • 23 total units required • 4 units English • 3 units Math (between 9th & 12th grades) • 3 units Science (1 Biology) • 3 units Social Studies (OK, World, US, American) • 1 unit of Fine Arts • 1 unit of Computers or Foreign Language • Personal Financial Literacy • Electives to meet the 23 total units • Beginning with the class of 2019

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses • Courses are weighted on a 5 point scale. • Increased rigor means increased preparation for college • AP courses increase access to college admissions and scholarships • College credit is possible for high AP exam scores • Scores of 3 or higher typically earn college credit

Concurrent Enrollment • On transcript, and now factored in High School GPA using a 4.5 scale • Have you completed or nearly completed the high school graduation requirements? • Have you taken the ACT? • Can you financially afford to take concurrent classes (fees, books, supplies)? • Will taking a concurrent class be more beneficial than taking an AP class? • Can you apply the concurrent college credits to a future degree program? • Will you be able to transfer concurrent college credits to a different college, if needed? • Juniors might receive tuition waiver. Ask the college for guidance. • Be sure to visit with your counselor as you are considering concurrent!

  13. Earned Money • Federal Work Study • A job is listed in your financial aid package • The Financial Aid office will help you find or place you in a position that will help you earn the amount expected

Oklahoma’s Promise • Tuition Waiver • Does not pay for items such as books, supplies, room and board, any other special fees. • Be an Oklahoma resident • Enroll in the 8th, 9th, or 10th grade at an Oklahoma high school (homeschool students must be 13, 14, or 15). • Parents income from taxed and untaxed sources is not more than $50,000 per year. • Special provisions for adopted students/ students in legal guardianship www.okpromise.org

  16. Grade Point Average(GPA) • Unweighted GPA: grade point average figured without the weight of an honors, pre-AP, or AP course. A= 4, B= 3, C= 2, D= 1, F= 0 • Weighted GPA: grade point average figured with the weight of an honors, pre-AP, or AP course. A= 5, B= 4, C= 3, D= 2, F= 0 • Core GPA: grade point average that is figured on an unweighted basis that reflects the grades in the NCAA determined core courses.

  17. Division III or Undecided Division I or II Create a free Profile Page if you plan to compete at a Division III school or are not yet sure where you want to compete. You need to be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school. www.ncaa.org
