(1888PressRelease) Senator Kuderer shared, "Year after year I speak in support of this resolution, calling out the main areas of major gender imbalance in the tech field, and that includes educational opportunities, access to venture capital, contract procurement and opportunities for promotion.

  3. Women in Cloud (WIC) was recognized for its notable strides in bridging the gender gap in the tech industry with the adoption of Bill SR 8630 by the Washington State Senate. Led by Senator Patty Kuderer of the 48th Legislative District, the Bill acknowledges Women in Cloud’s outstanding achievements and international growth within the last year.

  4. This is the fourth proclamation honoring and recognizing ‘Women in Cloud Day’, which was previously celebrated on January 26th by proclamations SR 8602 and SR 8697.

During the Senate Pro Forma Session, Senator Kuderer shared, "Year after year I speak in support of this resolution, calling out the main areas of major gender imbalance in the tech field, and that includes educational opportunities, access to venture capital, contract procurement and opportunities for promotion.”

  6. In light of the financial and emotional impact on women tech entrepreneurs amidst the pandemic, as illustrated by Women in Cloud’s 2020 and 2021 COVID-19 Impact Reports, the importance of WIC’s goal to generate $1B in net new global revenue for women in tech by 2030 couldn’t more aptly timed.

She was first appointed to the House of Representatives in September of 2015 and won her first election to retain the seat the following year. In January 2017, Patty was again unanimously appointed by the King County Council to fill the vacant Senate seat in the 48th Legislative District. She now represents her constituents as their first female state Senator.
