God ‘The Father’ - Jesus ‘ The Son’ - The Holy Spirit • The Trinity is the term used to signify the central Doctrine of the Christian religion. Within the unity of the Godhead, there are 3 Persons – The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, and these 3 persons are truly Distinct one from another. • In the words of the Creed: “The Father is God, the Son in God, and the Holy Sprit is God, and yet there are not 3 Gods but one God”. • There are 3 basic elements of the Christian vision of God. These 3 main elements are: • God created the world, establishing it with order and form • God redeemed the world in Jesus Christ • God is present in the world here and now, guiding and encouraging believers.
A Trinitarian Approach • Use the internet to find a prayer or song about Jesus or God . Then answer the following: • What is the name of the Prayer/ Song • When was the Prayer/ Song made, and by whom? • In what way does this Prayer/ Song reveal the active presence of God? • How is this Prayer/ Song significant to us today? Answer individually. • I will select 5 students to present their Prayer/ Song to class and briefly explain how their Prayer/ Song reveals the presence of God.
Learning Prep. • Using the internet, research the meaning of: • Godhead, Doctrine, Creed. • Explain the Catholic understanding of the image of God in The Trinity. This is your A Task – Due Wednesday P3
