  1. Writing Reflection: Skills Focus • Identify a skill to be improved. • Take out a blank sheet of paper. Write: • Skill to be improved: specifically what about that skill you are focusing on improving LITERARY ANALYSIS OF ANY OF THE SHORT PIECES WE’VE READ: • THESIS – Write a thesis and 2-4 supporting topic sentences. • ORGANIZATION/PARAGRAPHING – Write a thesis and 2-4 supporting topic sentences. • SENTENCES – Write a single paragraph with a topic sentence in which each idea connects to a previous one. • EVIDENCE – Write a single paragraph with a topic sentence and solid textual evidence, including short, selective quotes integrated into sentences. • DEVELOPMENT OF EVIDENCE • Write a single paragraph with a topic sentence and solid textual evidence. Explain clearly how that evidence helps support your point. • Write 3-4 pieces of textual evidence (related or not). Explain the point being made with each piece of evidence. • CONCLUSION • Write a concluding paragraph. First, briefly restate your thesis; then continue by explaining why the reader should care about your analysis – SO WHAT?
