General Directions • Using the same product from the chapter 6 project (http://www.bornrich.org/) create a plant asset record using straight-line depreciation and one of the other depreciation methods (declining-balance method of depreciation or sum-of-the-digits method of depreciation) from chapter 8. • You will need to get your index card from Mrs. Gallagher with all of your information to complete this project. • These must be turned back in to Mrs. Gallagher the day the assignment is due.

Straight-Line Directions • On one slide complete the plant asset record for your asset using the information/scenario provided by Mrs. Gallagher and your knowledge. • Include a picture of your asset! • Include a Title (the name of your asset)! • Include colors/themes on your slide that are appropriate to your asset. • Include your names in the header! • Make sure content is accurate.

Straight-Line Directions Cont… • Copy the Table from slide 5 of this PowerPoint and add your information/content. • You will come up with your own Plant asset record number! • You will come up with your own general ledger account number (make sure it follows accounting rules). • You will come up with your own General ledger account (make sure it follows accounting rules). • You will create your own serial number. • All other information is provided for you by Mrs. Gallagher!

Other Depreciation Method Directions • Pick a second depreciation method either declining-balance method of depreciation or sum-of-the-years-digits method of depreciation! • On the second slide complete the plant asset record for your asset using the information/scenario provided by Mrs. Gallagher and your knowledge. • Include a picture of your asset (a different one than the previous slide)! • Include a Title (the name of your project and the method it represents)!

Other Depreciation Method Directions Cont… • Include colors/themes on your slide that are appropriate to your asset. • Include your names in the header! • Make sure content is accurate. • Create a table in the second slide using the examples/layouts in the textbook. • Include in your footer the link to the project from the Born Rich Website! • Save the project on your h-drive, as Chapter 8 Depreciation Project, it will be added to one PowerPoint on Mrs. Gallagher’s jump drive.
