  1. Landscape Photography

  2. Maximize your Depth of Field-DON’T ZOOM unless you have to • Use a Tripod-or your knee or a tree to steady the camera • Look for a Focal Point- something to catch the viewers’ eye • Think Foregrounds- something at the front of your pic, can be your focal point • Consider the Sky- if it’s dull only give it 1/3 of your pic space, if it’s interesting give it more • Lines- provide depth, the way the eye is drawn into the pic Landscape Photography Tips

  3. Capture Movement- running water, blowing wind, etc. • Work with the Weather • Work the Golden Hours- dawn and dusk • Think about Horizons- 1/3 rule: generally it is best to put the horizon 1/3 of the way from the top or bottom of your pic instead of in the center Landscape Photography Tips

  4. Take 3 landscape pictures • 1 must be in color • 1 must be changed to black and white • 1 is your choice • They can be of any landscape (people are downplayed in landscape pics/they may be there but they aren’t the most important part) • Portrait or landscape print (you can turn camera either way) Assignment
