  1. CHURCH PLANTING Planting a church is a series of interrelated steps that requires more than just human expertise if a new church is to be birthed. Planting a church is a spiritual journey requiring long hours of physical work and intercessory prayer.

  2. Step 1 begins with either the discovery of a need, a person called, or a willing sponsor church.

  3. Step 2 brings the planter, the sponsor, the association, and a state convention together to plan and pray together.

  4. Step 3 brings the representatives from step two back together to consider all available resources.

  5. Step 4 is the public launch of services. These may follow several weeks or months of preparation, core development, and private services.

  6. Step 5 is the development of the new congregation through groups and worship. The groups include discipleship, missions, ministry, and community.

  7. Step 6 is a multiplication process as the new congregation becomes the sponsor or initiator of another new church plant.
