Module Aims Give student a wide-ranging insight into the emerging field of Health Informatics and its impact on the delivery of healthcare.
Learning Objectives • Show understanding of the principles of systems, models and change theory • Display critical awareness of the recent history, current initiatives and issues in health informatics • Show conceptual grasp of medical knowledge representation and reasoning • Demonstrate knowledge of data protection and confidentiality as applied to health information
Outcomes • Read and criticise an official report • Evaluate an HI project • Synthesise information on a current HI problem or issue • Produce a plan for an HI project • Discuss a current issue in Health Informatics orally and in writing
