Efficiency • Efficiency is how effectively the wind energy is converted to electrical energy. • P = 0.5 x rho x A x V3 • P = 0.5 x rho x A x Cp x V3 x Ng x Nb • Ng = efficiency = 38%
Design Issues • Out first windmill idea was a turbine that rolled parallel to the ground but was ineffective at catching wind • Our first generator idea was having the magnet spin close to a nail with coils wrapped around it
Conclusion • Our windmill satisfies all the requirements for the project • It generates approximately 1.5 volts and satisfies all design and price limitation requirements • Other than preliminary design issues everything worked according to plan
