HRAdminTool Update May 2007
Brief History of HRAdminTool • Version 1 Release – January 2003 (Jointly developed by Benefits & SOMIT) • GEAC position, base salary, account information • Complex security matrix • Took over a year to develop • Version 2 Release – September 2004 • Printable CPP • Electronic Termination forms for processing of School and Hospital terminations • Version 3 Release – September 2005 • 2 Month development window to rewrite the tool for PeopleSoft
Summary of Problems w/ Current Version • Base Salary not matching on all screens • People with complex history records involving retro changes (salary and accounts) not being displayed properly • Some “special” roles not working properly • Active employees showing up incorrectly as terminated in HR Admin Tool • Dept administrators not able to access full list of employees that they are supposed to see
Plan for Version 4 • HRIT / IT / HR Transactions worked closely to redesign system to derive majority of data directly from the PeopleSoft database • Developed loader program to reverse records that were incorrectly modified by original program • Version 4 differences • Includes consolidated Position / Salary Information page, which includes position, base salary and account screens with history • Preserves old screens as “Archive”
Estimated Timeline for Ver. 4 Release • HR Retesting – Completed on April 27, 2007 • Dept Administrator (Beta-testers) re-testing of system - April 30, 2007 – May 10, 2007 • Training for Users Week of May 14 – Schedule to be announced • User guide will be available & distributed during system go-live • Go-Live – May 28, 2007 (instructions to follow) • Site address remains: • http://tools.med.nyu.edu/hradmintool • User Access / specific data questions still handled by HR • Technical issues should be directed to somit.dbapps@med.nyu.edu
