  1. Sango Elementary Monday, March 5, 2012 Reading – This week’s story is “Satchel Paige.” Vocabulary words this week are: unique, confidence, outfield, mocking, weakness, windup, and fastball. The students will complete the story vocabulary and comprehension questions in class on Thursday. Language Arts- We will continue our study of adjectives. There will be an assessment Friday, March 9. Science- Students will discover how mountains and oceans affect weather. Students will discuss the difference between the climates of coastal cities vs. inland cities on the same latitude. Test Friday on weather and atmosphere. Students will see some questions from plate tectonics again. Math Students will continue measuring the area of a square, rectangle, triangle, and parallelogram. Quiz on Friday. Math Superstars Lesson XVII is today and lesson XVIII is due on Friday. Social Studies – We are studying the Civil Rights Movement. The cereal box projects look wonderful. They will be sent home later this week. ** Students need to bring their recorders to music this week and next! JUST A REMINDER… March 6th No School March 7th Last day to purchase Barbeque fundraiser tickets March 12th Benchmark III Week March 13th PTA Barbecue Fundraiser March 15th Spring Pictures March 19th Magazine Fundraiser Begins March 20th Sango Spelling Bee March 26th Spring Break April 3rd APSU Stem EXPO for CMCSS students. April 5th is the deadline for turning in to Mrs. Lunceford your child’s baby picture to be used at the the 5th grade promotion. April 19th 5th Grade field trip to the Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN. May 18th 5th Grade promotion at Faith Outreach Church.
