Elvis and Cash • Grew up under similar conditions • Born three years apart • Both from the American South • Elvis from Mississippi and Cash from Arkansas • Both grew up poor during the Great Depression • Both worked various jobs to support their families • Both ending recording for Sun Records in Memphis in mid-1950’s
