  2. Background • Real name Demetrius Flenory • Born in Detroit • Started a gang called Black Mafia Family • Started it with his brother Terry • Started selling cocaine in high school at 15

  3. Crimes • No past convictions • In November 2007, Big Meech plead guilty to running a continuing criminal enterprise. • In September 2008, Big Meech was sentenced to 30 years in prison for running a nationwide cocaine-trafficking ring, which lasted from 2000 to 2005.

  4. Significance • Big Meech ran one of the biggest criminal enterprises in US history. • He was the reason a lot of Atlanta rappers got their start.

  5. Now • Big Meech is still in jail serving his 30 year sentence. (FREE MEECH) • BMF or Black Mafia Family is no longer a running gang.
