The river jerked from side to side, spilling water over its banks and flooding the streets. The quake was so strong that church bells on the East Coast, a thousand miles away, rang without warning. Was there one sentence that told you the whole story?

The man sent his meal back to the kitchen, which greatly insulted Crum. To get the man back, Crum made him some French fries that were sliced very thin, fried to a crisp, and heavily salted. But Crum’s prank backfired; the man loved the crispy potatoes. Soon people from all over New York were piling into Crum’s restaurant to taste his newly created “potato chips”. Let’s try another one! Remember the steps!

21. The main idea is – It took ancient Romans a long time to dye special clothing purple for rich people using special snails. Try this one with your NHP. Follow the steps! Ancient Romans used a special kind of sea snail to dye clothes the color of purple. Dyers pulled these snails off rocks along the seashore. They carefully crushed the snails’ bodies one by one to remove a small sac of purple pigment from each. They mixed the pigment with salt water and ash to create the dye. It took the pigment ten thousand snails to produce enough dye for one dress. This lengthy process made for a very expensive piece of clothing. Only people of great wealth, such as kings and queens, could afford to wear purple garments. Was the main idea stated or implied?
