POLICY • Mothers’ Union tackles violence against women & girls • Throughout the world women and girls are subject to different forms of violence: physical; sexual; mental; emotional; neglect; human trafficking; forced marriages; prostitution. • Encouraging equal relationships, through its Literacy and Financial Educational Programme (LFEP) • Improving communities & relationships between husbands & wives in Uganda through its Family Life Programme • giving practical support to women experiencing violence in the UK and supporting women’s refuges. • lobbying governments at the United Nations Commission on the status of women (UNCSW).
