Welcome to Mrs. J’s Class Rules and Guidelines
Another important fact: I am the Queen of this classroom! I have the tiara to prove it!!
There is only one of me and several of you, so know that I will get to you as soon as I can when you need help. Being impatient and demanding will not make me get to you any sooner.
Put your phone up!! No texting/cell phone usage in school and especially in my class! There may be times when it is permitted, but abuse will result in loss of any privileges. We know all your little tricks, too, so beware!
Supplies • Make sure you come to class prepared with the appropriate items needed for that day. I will keep literature books in my room, so you only need keep up with a grammar book and notebook. You will need the following for my class this year: • Spiral notebook- 5 subject • Paper- pens-pencils • Pocket portfolio – used to keep papers in each six weeks-
The time we have in class is important. Make the most of it. Class time is not the time to catch up, flirt, make weekend plans, etc. It is time to work. If we work hard, there could be a bit of time where you can visit occasionally.
HOMEWORK • Homework is important. I will never give you homework just for the sake of giving you work. It will ALWAYS have a purpose. I don’t give a lot of homework, so when I do, I expect you to do it! I will be available via Edmodo to help you with any questions you have.
Grammar and punctuation are important Why? Don’t make me give you this face! • First of all, you sound like an intelligent human being when you write and speak correctly. This is important in life as many employers do not want someone who appears uneducated. This is true even if you only aspire to work the drive through window at McDonalds. And most importantly for you right now, it is tested on the EOC.
You should work so hard that this is you ever day after school.
For tomorrow, consider the following question. Answer it in a complete paragraph, and be prepared to share at the beginning of class tomorrow. I will share mine as well.
