Background • 2007: Deemed savings last updated to reflect • Minimum Federal Standard • MEF of 1.26 or greater • Water Factor of 9.5 gallons/cycle or less • Energy Star Standard • MEF of 1.72 or greater • Water Factor of 8.0 gallons/cycle or less. • 43 Claims made in CRC during 2007 & 2008 • Current PTR Measure List: • New Energy Star Standard • Effective July 2009 • MEF of 1.8 or greater • Water Factor of 7.5 gal/cycle or less • Effective Jan 2011 • MEF of 2.0 or greater • Water Factor of 6.0 gal/cycle or less

Setting the Baseline and Upgrade Efficiency Levelsfor Savings Estimates • Issues: • Market Saturation Data isn’t available • Use of CEC list directly will skew market saturation, since some units have multiple model names, which may or may not correspond to higher market saturation • Proposed Solution: • Sort CEC list (last updated March 2009) by unique models based on same capacity, MEF, WF, and RMC. (Independent of model name or manufacturer). Use the sorted list as a proxy for market saturation; each model is assumed to have equal weighting in the market. • Baseline • Average of All Models on the List • Energy Star • Average of units that meet Energy Star Standards
