Permanent magnet dipole for nTof EAR2 Work progress 04/02/2014 Pierre-Alexandre Thonet TE-MSC-MNC
All components were received at CERN. • The external magnet yoke was assembled and all side permanent magnet blocks inserted. • During the insertion of the pole permanent blocks, a reversefield was repulsing the magnets each other. • In order to avoid this problem, it has been decided to short cut the dipole gap with 1200 steel sheets during the assembly operation. • The steel sheets have been cut and are being inserted in the dipole. • Then the pole permanent magnet blocks will be inserted. • Assembly completion expectedfor end of February 2014. Work progress and future milestones Pierre-Alexandre THONET 04.02.2014
