  2. -Security Guards are contracted or employed to protect a variety of assets, such as property, equipment, personnel or money from damage, theft and other criminal or unsafe activities. -They achieve this by maintaining a high visibility presence on-site, patrolling the area to deter and discourage unauthorized behaviour. -Security Guards also monitor alarm systems and surveillance equipment to detect hazards and signs of criminal activity and take action to minimise damage by confronting and escorting trespassers off the property.

  3. Step 1: Complete Your Basic Education. To become a Security Guard, it is recommended that you -Complete your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (VCE, QCE, HSC etc) -Gain basic training in first aid. -Most states require that security guards be at least 18 years of age

Step 2: Obtain Your Security Guard License -Complete an accredited security training course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). -There are different courses depending on the type of security you want to offer, from crowd control to armed guard. - After you have completed the relevant training you will receive your Security Licenceand you can start work right away!
