Brief: • Work in partnership with the customer to create two sizes of the same feature chair with the inbuilt capability to remove and replace upholstered sections for maintenance purposes and be easily floor fixed without damaging delicate floor coverings or changing the overall design of the chair itself and achieving official test certification of the highest standards. • Action: • Work alongside the customer’s design and installation departments to modify internal chair structures to create removable upholstered sections and an easy to apply methodology for removal and replacement. • Create a new floor fixing mechanism that complies with stablizing the weight of the chair but also facilitates diamond drilling operations for floor fixing to eliminate floor tiling from cracking on application. • Engage with an independent test facility to ensure the chair and floor fixing mechanism comply with internationally recognised standards at extreme usage levels Results: A successful streamlined collaboration of customer Antocks and NESS Furniture based on flexibility and cooperation resulting in and extreme usage feature chair with excellent whole life cost improvements implemented throughout Europe.
