  2. Attempt these steps firstly using the /force-uninstall switch and frminst.exe: 1) If required deactivate McAfee services protection in VSE. It consists of an Access Protection feature which protects the services to stop. The user should deactivate the setting using ePO or do it locally. If it cannot be one by ePO then go through these steps: Go to Start first and then Programs. Chose McAfee from here and click Virus Scan Console. Give a right-click on Access Protection and then choose Properties. Now in order to let it stop deselect Prevent McAfee services > click Apply. Now exit from the VirusScan. You can continue with the next process.

  3. 2)If you are able to do it by ePO: Select Start > Programs > McAfee > ePolicy Orchestrator Console. Choose the computer level or go to the directory where the VSE will change. The VirusScan Enterprise policy must be expanded in the right pane. Now beside Access Protection Policies and select ‘Edit’. Choose the tab of AP and again deselect in order to stop > select Apply. To apply the changes let a wake call be sent to the agent. Exit from the ePO console.

  4. 3)Now use the command to run frminst.exe /forceuninstall: • Start > Run > type: “c:\Program Files\McAfee\Common Framework\frminst.exe” /forceuninstall OR “c:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework\frminst.exe” /forceuninstall • Restart your PC and the agents are removed with the files completely.
