  2. Don’t deny • When a character suggests your relationship or actions, follow along • DON’T SAY “NO” (This is the refusal to follow the lead given you not a “no” of disagreement in the conversation)

  3. Don’t ask open-ended questions Questions should take a “Yes” or “No” answer and then you can elaborate…in character

  4. Don’t have to be funny Comedy is not “making a joke”…comedy is creating a connection with the audience because you are truthfully going through something they also have gone through

  5. Make your partner look good When you respond to your partner and help them along in the story, you make yourself look good too

  6. Tell a story IMPROVS need a beginning, middle and end. Do not take yourself out of the storytelling before the story is over. Create a shared cue that will signal the end.
