Phase shifter To laser VOA coupler reflector Output • OBJECTIVES: • The ultimate goal of PICASSO is the development of integrated and hybrid photonic components and subsystems to build chaos-based optical communication systems. Hybrid Device Integrated Device first approach DFB-section Phase-section VOA-section
IFISC role in PICASSO Responsible of WP1: Modeling and Simulations • Theoretical activities related to nonlinear dynamics of the integrated components. • Numerical simulation of the transmission properties of the chaotic signals . • Theoretical analysis of the security aspects. WP1 will provide input to WP2 for the design of the devices, and will interact with all other WPs receiving experimental data, comparing with the theory and providing guidelines for system experiments and security enhancement methods.
