Today we’re going to talk about how Symbolism is used in Political cartoons “You can make my body go to school but my soul will be outside running through sprinklers”
First of all...what is a Symbol? Not sure? A symbol is an object, (in our case a picture), that is used to represent something more than just the object itself.
Symbolism • Cartoonists will use simple objects to stand for larger concepts or ideas. • Symbols are often the building blocks of a particular cartoon. • Some symbols are famous • Symbols work as a kind of shorthand and make it possible to pack a great deal of meaning into a cartoon.
