  3. Narrative for Comic Book In this lesson my first grade students would take pictures from our recent field trip to Deanna Rose Farmstead and create a comic book with the pictures. They would be editing the pictures in http://www.picnik.com/ and http://www.getpaint.net/ and creating witty comic style comments. The students would be meeting the following technology standard: 1. Creativity and Innovation   Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. Students: b. create original works as a means of personal or group expression. They would also be meeting the KSDE Standard for writing: The student writes effectively for a variety of audiences, purposes, and contexts. Uses details in pictures and words to develop a story. (Ideas and Content: prewriting, drafting, revising: N,E) My students would be able to work with partners to edit and create text on our laptops during writer’s workshop. I would work with small groups of students while the rest of the class was working on our Daily 5 rotations. The end result could be shared on line with parents and other first grade classes.
