  1. Fishbowl Discussion Of Mice and Men

The Set Up • The class will be divided into three groups • The first group will enter the center of the room aka the “fishbowl,” while the other groups remain outside • Students will begin the discussion by utilizing the pre-writing discussion sheet • The students outside the discussion will sit quietly and listen to the “fishbowl” • Each group will be in discussion for approximately 8 minutes and will rotate • Mrs. Becker will be in the discussion but only to help facilitate discussion by clarifying questions • Ms. Tegs will tally each members contributions to the discussion

  3. The Expectations • One person speaks at a time. If two individuals attempt to speak, one must politely yield. • Each individual in the discussion will contribute to the conversation (refer to pre-discussion activity sheet)
