The Current Situation • In Washington, H1N1 has contributed to more than 1,000 hospitalizations and 44 deaths since mid-September. • New cases are reported each week. • Almost all circulating influenza viruses in Washington are 2009 H1N1 viruses. • Overall, influenza activity remains high in Washington, but appears to be decreasing. • Plan and prepare for 3rd wave/seasonal flu
In Washington State 918 hospitalized and 28 fatal laboratory-confirmed influenza cases were reported to the Department of Health between September 19–November 7, 2009 *Age missing for 3 influenza A cases 1 hospitalized and 1 death – seasonal flu
