ShravanOberai • Hills are in ruins • Hundred of villages are cut off from the main stream • Infrastructure severely damaged • Scarcity of food & other basic amenities in villages and small towns which remain inaccessible. • Most of thehouses are destroyed and whatever left are badly damaged. • Focus on evacuation of tourists. • Tons of relief material is pouring from all over India through NGO’s. But due to lack of co-ordination among various government agencies its getting wasted & not reaching the needy. • DRT51 under the Round Table India Banner had established a base camp inMaletha in association with GeetaBhavan& IMA. The camp functioned for 10 days. • Relief material was distributed among villagers near Rudraprayag. Pictures in the next slide. • DRT51 Team had also planned to visit more villages around Srinagar (Garhwal) but couldn’t reach due to road block. • Team was successful in establishing some local contacts in the affected areas in order to reach out to maximum number of people. • After the completion of first phase the focus now should be on rehabilitation on a long term basis • DRT51 to adopt a village in the hills • Rebuild houses & schools • Also look into distribution of a kit as part of rehabilitation. The kit would consist of following items • Mattress • Quilt • Pillow • Bed Sheets • Utensils • Bucket • To organize a Blood donation camp on 1st July 2013 in association with Institute of Chatered Accountants of India (ICAI), Dehradun branch & MahantIndresh Hospital

FUNDS COLLECTED UTTRAKHAND FLOOD RELIEFSTATUS UPTO 3rd JULY 2013 Funds received by DRT51 – Rs. 16,08,000/- (excluding Rs 2 Lakhs from RTIT) Funds received by RTIT – Rs. 15,70,000/- Total Funds Raised – Rs. 31,78,000/- Funds Utilized by DRT51 – Rs. 4,88,917/- Details of the funds received & spent has been provided in a separate excel file attached with the presentation. After the first phase of relief material distribution it was decided that the balance funds would be utilized for rehabilitation. As discussed with Area Chairman Tr. MohitArya, DRT51 is in the process of identifying & adopting a village. As part of this 2nd Team from DRT51 would be visiting various villages depending on weather conditions & accessibility in the hills. A concrete plan of action for rehabilitation along with the budget will be worked out. Mass appeal would then be sent out to Round Table India & Round Table International in case more funding is required.
