Le Blanc Process • Sulphuric acid + Salt • H2So4 + 2NaCl = Na2So4 + 2HCl • Sodium Sulphate + Hydrochloric Acid • Salt cake + Limestone + Coal • Na2So4 + CaCo3 + C = Na2Co3 + CaS + 2Co2 (Black Ash) • Calcium sulphide + Sodium Carbonate + Carbon dioxide (leach with warm water to form soda crystals) • 1 tonne of soda crystals + 2 tonnes of waste (Galligu) • Calcium sulphide, sodium sulphide unburnt coal & coal ash
