  1. WHAT IS ? • Depuy is a firm wich manufacture human prothesis like hip ,knee or ankle prothesis. An Hip prothesis : A Knee prothesis :

What About ? • Depuy was founded in 1998, it’s a firm of Johnson & Johnson company ,wich is the largest company in the wolrd of health care. • In Depuy there are about 700 employees and the firm work 5 day per a week and 24 hours by 24 hours. • Johnson&Johnson has got for places in Ireland: Limerick, Dublin, Cork and Cashel

  3. How to produce a prothesis? • Fist engineers and designers think and design the future prothesis • In Depuy there are 100 engineers. Everybody works together to design the next products and it is very important. The prosthesis has to preserve all natural movements !

  4. Titanium Cobalt-Chrome After designing, moulding. • The prothesis are firstly moulded in order to give it the initial shape. • Most of the prothesis are made of Cobalt- Crome ( 70% ), the other are made of Titanium which is stonger but it’s also more expensive.

  5. POLISHING • Polishing is very important because it avoids wearing . A prothesis polish: • Each prosthesis is polished twice. ( Robot + Worker) • Workers wear protection glasses. Moreover, they must not stay polishing for a long time (to avoid breathing diseases)

  6. Packaging and Sterilization • Finaly all the products are sterilized in a totaly sterilized room and then packaged to be send to Leed to the international distribution center in U.K

  7. Surgery • Sells directly prosthesis to surgeons in spite of their expensive prices. • A prosthesis costs 5000 to 6000€

  8. Conclusion • always looks for the innovation. His purpose is to be the first one world of the prosthesis. • The company wants to widen prosthesis in titanium. • The company wants to sell more and more prosthesis each year.
