  2. Introduction • The leatherback turtle is also called the lute turtle.It is the largest of all living sea turtles and the fourth largest modern reptile behind three crocodillians . It is also the only living species of it’s family.

  3. Habitat • Leatherbacks mostly live in the open ocean. Scientists tracked a leatherback turtle that swam from Indonesia to the U.S. in an epic 20,000 km journey over a period of 647 days.

  4. Diet • Leatherbacks mostly eat Jellyfish, they will even prey their jellyfishes throughout the whole day. They can also eat soft-bodied organisms.

  5. Lifespan • Very few people know the lifespan of leatherbacks, some say that it’s lifespan is about 30-40 years, while some say that it’s lifespan is about 50-70 years.

  6. Theats • Adult leatherback turtles have few naturalpredatorsas they mature they are most vulnerable to predation in their early life stages. Birds, small mammals , and other opportunists dig up the nests of turtles and consume eggs.
