Radial club hand • Absence of whole or part of radius • Hand is in radial deviation • Isolated or associated other anomalies (cardiac, blood, vertebral, GI) • Rx : manipulation + splintage surgery
Madelung deformity • Congenital or posttraumatic • Lower radius curves forward & medially • Rx : if function affected osteotomy
Kienbock disease • = crushing osteochondritis of lunate • It is AVN of lunate • Cause : unknown • May be : relatively short ulna
CF: wrist pain & weak grip • XR: bone density collapse OA • Rx : splintage shortening of radius arthrodesis
De Quervain`s disease • Tenosynovitis of the compartment of APL & EPB • Cause : overuse • CF : middle aged female pain & swelling over radial styloid Finkelstein t.
Rx : NSAIDS steroid injection surgery
Ganglion • Commonest swelling in the wrist • Pathology : myxoid degeneration in a ligament or capsule • It is a cyst that contains mucoid material • CF : painless swelling
Rx : removal if troublesome or unsighty • Recurrence is common
