DAAD programmes to internationalise Germany's instituions of higher education 1. Development of internationally attractive study and research opportunities, for example: • International (English-language) degree programmes • Foreign visiting lecturers • Restructuring of doctoral degree programmes 2. Creation of better framework conditions for foreigners • e.g. TestDaF • Guidance counselling at institutions of higher education • Foreigners and labour laws
DAAD Programmes for Africa South of the Sahara • Long-term research fellowships (PhD-level) • Sandwich-fellowships (PhD-level) • Short-term fellowships (Junior staff level) • Study (research) visits (senior academic staff) • Re-invitation fellowships for former DAAD fellows • Scholarships for Students of German Language • Scholarships for postgraduate courses in Germany • In-country/in-region postgraduate scholarships for faculty • German and African visiting lecturers • Follow-up contacts with former DAAD fellows
DAAD Programmes for Africa South of the Sahara Short-term fellowships (Junior staff level) • Applicants: PhD candidates or recent post-docs • Duration: 2-6 months Study (research) visits (senior academic staff) • Applicants: Professors or other senior academic staff member of universities or research institutions • Duration: 1-3 months Re-invitation fellowships for former DAAD fellows • Applicants: former DAAD long-term fellowship holders • Duration: 1-3 months
